Photography
I have a Canon EOS 40D camera. The lenses I use are a Tamron 60mm F/2 Macro, a Canon 100mm F/2.8 Marco as well as a Canon 28-135mm F 3.5 Zoom.
Many of the earlier photos in the blog were taken by me with a Sony Cyber Shot DSC-WX point and shoot. They were not so spectacular, so I enrolled in Digital 101 at The Showcase School in Atlanta! I have to mention my awesome instructor, Jeff Roffman. Let me just say, that if his photography doesn’t inspire you to be a better photographer, than nothing will!
I am now taking many of the pictures, however, my husband is still assisting me in the learning process. He is the photographer when I am doing the cooking or we are on the road for site visits and chef interviews.
Just So You Know
I use a Dacor range with burners rated at 18,000 BTU. It gets hot (yours may get even hotter!). So, when I talk about cooking times, you may need to do some adjusting to your own heat level or cooking time if your burners have a different BTU rating.
I also like to suggest that you keep an oven thermometer in your oven to be sure that the temperature is accurate. Cooking times will very greatly if you are trying to bake at 350 degrees, but your oven is only at 325 degrees. As my hubby would say, keep the oven door closed! Peeking through the glass is fine, but don’t keep opening the door. The heat level quickly goes down every time you open up the oven. It takes 10 minutes or more to recover the original oven temperature every time you open the door. Bet you didn’t know that, did you?
